For survivors of DV who want to use their experience to help and educate others to make changes in the community. Consults with and provides recommendations to the Executive Committee and the Task Force at large regarding services and other resources for domestic violence survivors.
Reviews fatality cases in the community and looks for ways to implement findings from previous reviews. Informs the Task Force of any reports or recommendations from GCFV. Provides domestic violence updates and or trends for Cobb County and the state of GA.
Maintains the Task Force's social media accounts. Responsible for maintaining the Task Force's social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram. The SMC may determine to add other social media platforms as needed. The SMC will frequently update the Task Force's accounts, develop and promote relevant content in order to increase the Task Force's social media presence, engagement, and general community outreach.
Main goal/function is to increase awareness of DV issues in Cobb County and by actively engaging with the local community. Conduct domestic violence trainings in places of worship and other faith- based organizations in Cobb County. Conduct community partner trainings with law enforcement and other first responders. Promote domestic violence political advocacy in Cobb County and the state of GA. Monitors any reviews current and proposed legislation regarding domestic violence issues, keeps the Task Force informed of pending legislation and keeps in contact with the Cobb County legislative delegation, coordinates the education and development of programs regarding domestic violence issues throughout the community.
